Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my own father, my wonderful husband, his father and of course St Joseph and our Father in Heaven. May God Bless all fathers today as they try to imitate Christ and raise souls to follow the ways of God.
We are off to the Minnesota Zoo today! Daddy's choice for his special day!

  1. Hi Jaime,

Happy Father's Day to everyone! I hope your husband, you, and your children enjoy the trip to the zoo today!

Tomorrows (Monday) is our 1st wedding anniversary! This morning we attended Mass at the Franciscan Father's chapel. It is a beautiful chapel filled with many lovely statues. They have a Communion Rail too. The Mass is said in English and Latin. These Franciscan Fathers are devoted to the Blessed Mother. What I like best is that they are devoted to the Blessed Mother, they have a Communion Rail, and everyone kneels at it during Communion. Ed started taking me to this church sometimes when we were dating. He would make the 45 minute trip to my Mom's house to pick me up, we'd go to Mass at the chapel, go out to eat for breakfast at a nice breakfast place nearby, spend a lovely day together, and then he'd bring me back later to my Mom's house. I remember my first visit to the chapel and how much I loved it. It is a traditional Catholic Church. Beautiful!

After breakfast this morning I headed back to the chapel to spend some time in Adoration. I was able to pray my daily 54 day rosary novena (I'm praying for a happy and holy Catholic marriage and for us to be blessed with a child), my chaplet to St. Gerard, my chaplet to St. Anne, and the Miraculous Medal prayer. A friend of mine sent me to keep a Miraculous Medal touched to the place where Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine asking her to promote the Miraculous Medal. So I've been praying this prayer while holding the Miraculous Medal praying if it's God's will for us, to please be blessed with a child.

I spent an hour in Adoration today praying and requesting graces for family, friends, everyone. I really enjoyed it. It gave me such peace and comfort. It has been very difficult for me to try to accept the fact that I might be infertile due to the endometriosis (which I just recently found out I had - February 12th when I had surgery) and that we might never be able to have a child of our own. I have to constantly pray for graces. I asked God if it's His will for us to have a child, then please continue to put that desire in my heart. I also asked Him if it's not His will for us, then please take the desire for a child of our own away. I still have the desire for a child in my heart right now. When I've prayed this before, the desire in my heart always stays and never goes away so maybe, just maybe someday we will be blessed with a child, but not right now. Or maybe we will not be blessed with our own child, but maybe adopt. We'll have to continue to pray about this and see.

Anyway, I am hoping to start going to Adoration on Sundays. We'll see.

Jaime, if you could continue to pray for us for these intentions I'd really appreciate it. Please know that you and your family are remembered in my prayers too.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Father's Day!

May God Bless you and your family.

    Love,
    Maria

    Maria:
Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. Your Franciscan chapel sounds wonderful, you are blessed!
I hope you have a wonderful day together!

I think Adoration will help you with the peace you need. I will continue to pray for you and your husband. Thank you too for your prayers!

  5. By the way, I was so glad to hear about your kids and dogs. (Well, glad in the sense that I'm glad someone knows what I'm talking about!) They always have to ask me, "Mom- does the owner have the dog on a leash so he can't get us?"
I also liked your locker memories. We really would have been friends in high school, I think!

  6. Hi Jamie!
I haven't been checking your blog, and I was happy to see you are back on! Lots of cute pics too! Hope your Father's day was great and you enjoyed the zoo. We haven't been there for at least 5 years. It's always so fun.
I still need to get you my portion from our dorm stay and Angela's gift. Sorry I just haven't been able to do it yet!!
It' so funny, but I was doing the same things last week as well - switching over clothes and cleaning out our school books and art supplies. WOW! Your "problem areas" were NOTHING compared to my toy room/office/dump yard! I took me 8 hours on Saturday to dig through things! I still need a few more hours to finish up, then on to sorting through and prereading next year's curric. I'm so excited for it!
Hope you are enjoying our first sunny day in a while. How was swimming the other day? You would think we would get over to the pool next door, but it's just been to rainy or cold!
Much love and prayers to you and your sweeties!

PS I did manage to shoot up a few prayers for you at Adoration inbetween Eva wetting her pants right after we got there and needing to go potty again a few more times! :) Gotta love potty training!
