Oh, Baby, Baby!

Well, Babycakes moved out of her baby bed and is in a "big bed" now. We did it this last weekend. I was actually excited about it. She's not been going to bed very good lately, running and hiding in her sister's beds, constantly messing them up after they make them. I felt it was time, she is 2 1/2 now. In the past, we've already had another baby to fill that baby bed and the transition is made because of that. SO this time it was different. It didn't really hit me until I came home from an errand during her nap and my husband had taken down the crib already, in that short of a time. Almost 9 years of having a crib up and it was down and placed in the store room just in a errand's time! That was fine, but then when I saw the pile of baby blankets, I grabbed them and folded them right here on the table, then I cried. My baby is not a baby, she's officially a big girl!! Thank you God for that feeling, that desire of wanting a baby all. the. time.
Isn't her new bed cute? When we moved a year ago, I ordered an extra set of this comforter set knowing that Babycakes would be using it within a year. So they all match, since they are all in the same room!
Wouldn't you know, as soon as we take down the crib, we find out that we are pregnant and having another baby!!! I'm thinking this baby is due in early September but since they take me early, I will deliver in late August. That will make children's birthdays in June, July, August and September!! (and one in March)
OK, now from the moment I find out I'm pregnant, I worry. I run to the bathroom every time I feel something, I worry every time I have blood sugars above 120. (I'm now testing my blood 8-10 times a day) SO please pray for this baby to be healthy. I worry from the time I find out until that sweet little baby is out and in my arms.
I know it's early to tell, but, I want those prayers. Please. I'll pray for you too. I also believe in acknowledging it is a baby at the moment of conception!!
Thank you, God for a 6th soul to entrust us with. We are SO blessed and SO thankful.
***update: Since people are asking, I am feeling a little more tired, even with going to bed between 10-11pm every night. (this is a big step for me) I have lost my appetite but am not sick yet...that will happen in a couple weeks, so I am enjoying it now. I gave up my Diet Coke, but am sure I will break down once in a while and have one. I do get really sick and will not even be able to look at the computer screen in a few weeks without feeling dizzy. Feeling sick is a sign of a healthy baby, so bring it on!!! All my sickness is offered up for the health of the baby. All suffering has a purpose. I threw up with Ballerina Rosie (now 6) the most. I threw up at least 3x a day and gagged a ton more. I remember leaning on the kitchen sink and crying..."I'm one more day closer" One day at a time is the best advice I can give. SO you won't see any baby widgets saying 200 and some days left...that's just too overwhelming for me! Maybe at the end I'll do that!! Remember with diabetes, I will have to somehow get those calories back in me after throwing up, because the insulin is already in me. I will be buying sugar 7up soon.
Thank you all for your prayers, you are all wonderful!!

  8. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
    This is such exciting news.
You are the last person I was checking in with before heading to bed. I will go to bed with a smile on my face. How wonderful.

I'm a HUGE worrier during pregnancies. My 4th was the only one I was not sick with and that freaked me out. I was sure something was terribly wrong and he would not make it (like two other pregnancies where I was not sick). I googled far too many scary pregnancy things. I even convinced my doctor to do a blood test on me after I was in the sandbox with the kids and saw a little piece of cat poop. I ran home, scrubbed my hands....
Ok, I will spare you all of my weird worry stories.
Just know that a fellow worrier is praying for a peaceful mind for you. :)

Don't worry..I will pray, pray, pray for you. I worry all the time during my pregnancies also. You deliver your babies by c-section, correct? I know for me that's always a big fear. You have a wonderful little soul to take care of. How blessed are you both!

  20. congratulations jaimie. i once gave away some baby clothes i had been holding on to for about 10 years and got pregnant immediately. i guess it's best to hold onto those things-since we are all ready-at any moment-with our YES to God, should He decide to send us another blessing. hope you feel good enough, at least here and there to keep holding up the fort. it is always hard for me to "let go" for those nine months. and i must admit i am envious...i have had semi-empty arms for a while now. littlest son is going to be 5 in april. but i TRUST, so i'll just enjoy what is on my plate for the time being.

  23. Jamie,

Thank you so much for your wonderful and encouraging comment on my blog. I really appreciated it. I also really enjoyed the snail mail you sent me too. Even though we have never met, I do consider you a good friend. I admire your love and devotion to the Catholic faith and to your family. You are an inspiration to me. It always makes my day brighter to find a note from you in my email, blog, or snail mail!

By the way, what kind of Bible do you have? I recently purchased the Joyce Meyer study Bible at Wal-Mart and love it! I have been reading it every day. The other day I read that when we pray we must believe that we will receive what we asked for. I think that's my problem. I need to pray more and believe I will recieve what I'm asking for. I need prayers for an increase in faith.

I am really happy for you that you are expecting a bundle of joy. You are one of my favorite Catholic Mothers. I am looking forward to updates on your blog regarding your pregnancy.

When you have your ultrasound, are you going to find out the sex of your baby? Did you find out for your other children?

Jaime, thank you so much for your encouragement and prayers! You, your baby, and family will continue to be in my prayers!

P.S. Do you have the Pieta prayer book? Did you ever pray the 15 St. Bridget Prayers for a year? What prayers do you usually pray ever day? I would LOVE to hear!

Also, when you pray the rosary do you ask for your petitions in the beginning or the end? Just wondering. Sometimes I'm confused how to pray the rosary.

May God Bless you dear Jaime!

    Love,
    Maria Therese :)

  24. Thank you again to all praying!
I will be praying for you all.

    Maria-
My bible is a New American Catholic Bible. I also got a free one at a retreat, not sure what kind that one is...too tired to run upstairs and look. I use both of them though.

Yes, I have the Pieta prayer book, it is and always will be one of my favorites. Yes, a friend and I did the St Bridget prayers a couple years ago. I started them one other year on Jan 1 and lasted until my 3rd was born on Sept 2, and I was just too tired to finish them after that. SO I started them over the next year and completed them!! The graces were amazing, at least they felt amazing once I completed them. When I'd get discouraged and think it was too much, I'd re-read the promises and it would motivate me to complete them! I'd also try to pray all the Hail Mary's and Our Father's throughout the day and say the 15 prayers in the evening. I would encourage anyone to pray them, they are beautiful prayers meditating on our Lord's Passion.

Maria-there is no "set" way to pray the rosary as to when you ask for your petitions. Do whatever feels comfortable to you, you are talking to your Mother Mary, she already knows your needs. Talk to her as your own earthly mother.

I tend to be a one petition rosary pray-er...sometimes I will bunch them like, for my children, for my family, for friends trying to conceive and as I am praying I try to meditate on their needs and Gods will for them.

    Daily prayers:
First Thanksgiving for Faith, marriage, children, then food, clothes, water, a roof over our heads, a good job for my husband, our good health, etc....

Then my morning offering, prayers to the Holy Spirit, 2-3 of those and the St Gertrude prayer a couple times and a prayer for my spouse and a prayer for my family.

Then Angel of God and a "Help me to do Your will today Lord" in my own words.

Sometime in the day I try to pray the rosary, "try" being the key word and lots of offering up throughout the day. I always go to bed with a plastic rosary wrapped around my wrist and I start a rosary then and fall asleep praying it, but if I wake up in the night, I start praying it again.

I pray novenas once in a while, If I feel drawn to it, or called to pray one. Over Christmas I prayed a St Therese one and it was wonderful!

    That's it...
Hope that answers a few of your questions. Please remember you are in my prayers.

  25. Jaime,

Thank you so much for answering my questions! I have one more please: Do you wear the scapular or miraculous medal? Just wondering!

You have encouraged me and inspired me to pray more. Thank you!

P.S. I talked to my husband and he has agreed we can buy the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor next month! Also, I am going to ask him if we can attend another meeting at Catholic Charities on adoption. Maybe God is calling us to adopt a child? I will have to pray about that. I will be seeing a new surgeon in March about a second surgery to remove the rest of the endometriosis and adhesians. Maybe they will schedule the 2nd surgery in the spring or summer, I will have to heal for six weeks again, and then maybe after that I will have a better chance to be able to concieve? We will see! I want to keep trying and use all the options that agree with the Catholic Church. That way when I am fifty and if we still have no children of my own, I will be at peace that we tried everything.

Thank you for your prayers! I really do appreciate it! I know that I am not the only who has the cross of infertility and endometriosis. Maybe I can offer up my suffering and my cross for others (for an example, a good and healthy pregnancy and healthy baby for you!)?

    Love,
    Maria

May God Bless you and your lovely family.

    Love,
    Maria

  28. Sorry I'm so late to post this congratulations - but being told by you in person was so awesome! For those who weren't there, I literally jumped for joy! We'll be bumping bellies together for the next 7 months, and our babies will be about 1 month apart. Of course I'm praying for boys! 29. Dear Jaime :)

As you may know, I love to pray the rosary. I have decided to pray for you, your friend Melissa, and other pregnant blogger friends, their families, their marriages, and all of their needs and intentions in my daily rosary. It's my gift to you in this new year of 2009. I really want to help other Mothers and Mothers to be in some small way. I am also going to offer up all suffering that may come my way this year for you all to have good and healthy pregnancies, safe and sound deliveries, and healthy babies! I really want to do this for you all!

I hope this is okay to you and you don't mind? Praying for you all will help me too, you know! I really love praying and helping others!

May God Bless you, your unborn baby, and your beautiful family! Thank you for being my friend, the gift of your blog, your encouragement, and all your prayers! Now I want to do something for you!

    Love,
    Maria Therese :)
