Q-Tip Painting

Babycakes gets her own paint plate because she mixes it all!!
We make these paper plate snowmen every year, but they turn out so cute and different each year!

Trace stencils of snowflakes, mittens, snowmen and paint with Q-tips. I make a whole bunch of traced stencil winter sheets and we water paint them and color them too.

  3. That is a great idea. I'll have to do that with my preschooler. She'll love it.

  4. Very cute - have to keep those hands and minds busy somehow!

You do a lot of projects, Jamie; what do you do with all the finished work? I have a pile on my counter because we've been doing more this year. I hung a few on the wall for a while, but I need to find a better method - scotch tape doesn't work well & I don't want the spots that come with putty. The grandmas only have so much frig space (even though they appreciate the gifts)! How do you determine what to keep?

  6. Suzie, I've posted our "craft wall" before, (I'll try to show January's soon) I just hang all they do in the schoolroom. With scotch tape. it works great for me. I have 1 master of every craft project in a box downstairs in the basement and/or in my monthly file of crafts. SO, I only keep one. (it's usually mine) The rest go in the garbage. (When the month is done) I keep a file of their hand-drawn pictures for me, but only the best, the ones that melt my heart. I label them with their names and ages.

I don't keep them all because it's just clutter. What will they do with them when they get older? Throw them away. I have pictures to show them all we did.

    Hope that helps.

  7. Yes, that does help. Scotch tape doesn't stick to my school room walls for more than a couple hours - ughh! Otherwise that's what I'd use.

So, you keep a master copy in a month by month art file! That sounds like a great idea...I could do that. Goodness knows I have a file for everything else.

    Thanks!
