Tuesday Tally

Sarah did a "Tuesday Tally" today with her cereal and I thought I'd join in!
We have way too much cereal, I'm like Sarah's husband and stick with what works for me, which is Honey Nut Cheerios and Oatmeal. My family likes many others though....each liking different ones! Behind these are Corn Flakes and another box of Rice Krispies. Every day Ballerina Rosie reminds me that we need to get Grape Nut Flakes, another favorite with all the girls.
We use the Apple Jacks for a snack for fun.
My kiddos also love granola bars and yogurt for breakfast, quick and easy for me!
I admit, I'm not a big breakfast person.
What about you? What do you have for Breakfast?

Tour My Garden and Father's Day

Well, you know I must start my tour with my mailbox!! If you are a new reader, I love mailboxes! I love how our mailboxes are something we all go to, kids fight to go to, everyone gets excited about the mail, so, I love the story our mailboxes tell. Anyway, this year, I'm adding some perennials, daisies and some purple thing, but still planted morning glories to grow up the post, I also planted zinnias in the front. It looks like weeds now and, well, it is, but there are also some zinnia seedlings coming up! Come August it will be a beauty. (I hope)
Will you show me your mailbox?

This statue always reminds Babycakes to stop to pray.
Such a beautiful sight. This sweet, innocent, babe praying to our Blessed Mother.
I have roses growing in the back. I can't take any credit for these. I have never done anything to these, actually I never even water them and they bloom literally til November!!!
I have some wild yarrow growing in my iris's.
These wild flowers keep popping up in our backyard, the girls call it their garden and love to look at them every day.
My daisies are just starting to open up, come on sun, shine so my daisies can bloom!
(it's been pretty rainy this week in MN)
Daylilies are blooming, when the deer aren't eating the buds off.

That's it for now....more to come and now on to Father's day!
Daddy told the kiddos that he'd like another tee with all their handprints and Mama was listening. I don't even think Babycakes was born the last time we made him a tee!
Sweetie Pie is too small for hands, so we do feet for babes.
I got this great tee at Wal-Mart so all we had to do was add the hands!! Later, I added their names and ages in black.

Happy Father's day to you all this weekend.
Thank You God for my father and for the father of my children and for all of our blessed priests.
I'm taking a break from blogging, but will be back in a couple weeks!
God bless you all!

Some Summer Stuff!

For those who want to know, this is the kit we used, purchased at our local craft store.
Yes, it did make all 5 shirts and each bottle is half full still.
I got it on sale for $9.99
(for that price, I got 2!)
Ok, we decided to do the tees. Or, I decided to do the tees.
Some chose the Sacred Heart of Jesus and some chose the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I think they all turned out beautiful!!

I've done a lot of tie-dying in the past, both with my kiddos and with daycare children, but this time I got a kit and it was so much easier than the old Rit powders!

Ballerina Rosie and I are reading this series this summer, and loving it!

I laugh through the whole book. Ramona, the main character, not only looks like one of my children, but she kind of acts like one too...

Hmmmmm...I'm not going to say who, but, I love how the author really thinks like a kid and you, as the reader understand Ramona, as a kid would. It's great!

We were given a slush machine as a gift recently. I have to admit, at first, I thought, "what a mess that's going to be!"

But, it is not a mess at all. Well, there is a water mess, but who cares about water?

You just put ice into the machine and it shaves the ice, that's it. I found some sugar free syrup to put on it. It's so easy, we could do them every day!

And the smiles it brings are SO worth it!

We have not had great weather so far this summer, but we hear the nice, warm sunny days are coming the end of this week, and we can't wait!

I hope your summer is going great!

Christine!

Just a FYI:

Christine is temporarily without a blog, but when she comes back, (with a new blog) I'm sure she will have quite a story to tell....

Oh, and YES she is great.....just without a blog, that darn delete button!

Friday Flashback

Therese started a "Friday Flashback" I couldn't resist joining in today.
Here I was in 8th grade, but I'm in 1982, instead of Therese's 1983.
Age 13, Farrah Faucett hair and ruffly shirt.
Oh, I have so much to tell you young Jamie.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of my favorites.
The promises can be found here.
After re-reading the promises today, I've realized that I've done the 9 first Fridays, but my children have not and with 2 who now receive, I must get on that one!
We were going to do the tie-dye Sacred Heart tees, but I never got to the craft store with my 5 kiddos....so, if we make them, it will be later today, after Mass.
I thought about the Sacred Heart cookies, but am so trying so hard to lose this weight and those would just be soooo tempting to me.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have Mercy on us.

Rosary, Crumbs & Cherries!

"A rosary a day keeps the devil away"
"Say one or two daily--more as needed"
"Morning-Noon-Night"
"Unlimited Refills"
(someone made these and left a bunch in the back of our Church)

My little crumb-finder is moving quite a bit now, crawling (a little), scooting, rolling, sitting, crawling, scooting, sitting, constantly.
She's a busy, busy girl!

"Mama, you missed one right here, hurry, or I'm going to eat it."

Beautiful cherries are in season now

Babycakes loves them, she doesn't remember them from last year and is constantly asking for them!

Hello Everyone!

I'll start this post with a couple cute baby pictures, because, well, babies are just so cuuuute!
Especially in their cuuuuute summer outfits!
I got my garden in over Memorial weekend....I'm trying this thing called
Square Foot Gardening. Not sold yet....I'll let you know come August, depending on the harvest.
I mis-understood my friend, I thought she said I would not have to water as much, so, I'm thinking less work, I'm up for that this year. But...reading on in my book, I found out they actually need more water than normal gardens...
Planted tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and peppers.
VBS is over.
We had a wonderful week, filled with daily Mass (except the day the sisters were there), 3 different priests, 6 seminarians and lots and lots of fun!
I was in charge of preschool and was so busy, I didn't get very many pictures!
I really can't show faces anyway without permission, so this is what you get.
We have a family in our homeschool group that lives on an old farm and they welcome over 100 people every year for VBS. Opening their home and land and barns for everyone.
One of the priests was talking about how much he liked our program and how good it is, how our program has meat to it, not like the church's VBS programs that are all fluff.
Now, I don't feel guilty for not sending our kiddos to the church ones.
Speaking of fluff, I had preschool. Just kidding, but it really is all fun for that age! Our theme was St Patrick and the Holy Trinity.
One day was painting, mixing blue and yellow paint.
I'm not going to get too much into it, but the first day is about God the Father, then the 2nd day is about God the Son, and the 3rd day God the Holy Spirit and ending with the Holy Trinity.
Did you know that St Patrick, before he was a Bishop and all, was kidnapped by some pirates and stranded on an island? Well, the pagan pirates told St Patrick to pray to "his God" for food.
He did.
God sent pigs (and honey).
So, that is why Babycakes had a "pig birthday".
She wanted a party and the first day of VBS was her birthday, so what better party than with all your homeschool preschoolers your age, during VBS?
The question to the preschoolers was "Do you think the pigs flew down from Heaven?"
Pigs would not have flown well with Mary Hannah or Ballerina Rosie, but Babycakes, my good natured sweet girl, said "Yeah, I want pigs!"
Later in the week, we did things like walking looking for hidden shamrocks and games with snakes. And lots and lots of "Ring around the Rosie"!
We had great music and such a great group of teens, it was an amazing week.
My Jedi, who is usually quite shy, can't wait til he's 12 and can help out in the skit area.
It's a lot of work and this mama is always pooped afterward, but it is so worth it and always a great way to start our summers!

Babycakes is 4!

Oh, my sweet Babycakes! Look at those cheekies, you'll always be my Babycakes!
You are my sweet Iris baby, my Iris's are always blooming on your birthday!
It was a piggy-flip flop birthday!
I'll explain later.....
(Margaret, this photo is for you, I listened to your wonderful talks and thought of you while making these cupcakes with my kiddos....I did have one dozen of the 2 dozen for me and my perfectionist ways though...)

Happy birthday my sweet Babycakes and may God bless you abundantly!!!
