    1. Yay!!! I thought of you first Shelly!! This is half joking and half serious you know. If Texas gets far enough on this, we will move though.

    2. Look south- look really carefully- do you see that person standing at the border with their arms opened wide? That's me, waiting for you!

And you know, there is pretty serious talk about this down here. People with some big money are getting behind it. Wonder where it will lead-

    3. I see you---Hi Shelly!!!

It's exciting and scary at the same time. If it does happen, there will be a ton of people moving, a ton. I think it will take a few years for it to even happen if it does and by then, well, Obama will be out.

  3. Us too!! I was just talking about this with another homeschool mom the other day. She's a doctor, so we'd be covered medically if needed ;)
My husband has long talked about the possibility of finding some forsaken land in Wyoming and starting our own Catholic community. At one time I scoffed, but lately it doesn't seem so drastic.
I think we'd be in good company with some really great bloggers in Texas too!!

    1. Yes!! I know several bloggers in Texas!! hhaha, that's funny, because that is one of the first things I thought of when Tom and I were talking about this....bloggers. We all think alike, don't we?

Well, let's move together, we'll form a caravan!

  4. Wow! No more snow? Well that does my plans in of stopping at your place on a drive across the country to visit my family in Ontario. That wasn't going to happen any time soon, but I dreamed about it. My little guy really wants to meet your sweetie Colette. I think he thinks he's going to marry her. I've always wanted to go to Texas. Someday, someday.

    1. Well, this is only if Texas really seceeds from the Obamanation.

My Colette would love to marry Owen. Maybe you could teach her how to sew! :)

  5. You should not tease the state of Texas that way. I hate the weather this far south in Texas (Houston). I miss the change of season. I hear that the Dallas area is good. That said I do love being part of a state that is pretty conservative on many levels.
I finally sent the medals, they should get there in the next day or so. Praying still for Simeon.

    1. Neen--I'm not teasing--My husband has it figured out in his head, we'll move somewhere in the middle of the state, so we could still drive to the beach....It's sad to say, but I think this is something that could really happen. If any state could do it, Texas can.

(OK, I'm kind of teasing, but kind of not, there is some seriousness to this and seriously, if it does secede, we will move, we will not live in this Obamanation if we don't have to)

    2. Oh, and thank you for your prayers and medals, so thoughtful, God bless you!

  6. God willing! we have been discerning a move for some time now and have been convicted (far before the election) that the time is now and the location is tx. we are now working to put the call into action - searching for a rental home. we are looking for areas nearby the fssp community in irving tx. i would love to hear from other like minded families in tx or planning a move to tx.

    prayers for God's will!

    1. You know, Lena--it's probably better to move now before it secedes than after when everyone is rushing to sell and move!! Gosh, best wishes to you and your family, prayers for God's will. We, of course are only in the "first talking" stages, but my husband really surprised me and was pretty darn serious about it.

    2. The reality is that Texas is set up to bare a national economic collapse better than any other state. Since that scenario is more likely to happen before Texas secedes, it's better to consider moving before serious talks of a formal secession. Housing is cheaper, Texans are not crippled with as many taxes as other states. It's not perfect, it still has its share of liberals and most of the state doesn't experience 4 seasons as drastically as the rest of the nation but people really pay in taxes and crushing laws for 3 weeks of falling leaves and 4 plus months of snow. I'm a little biased...I'm from Lake Jackson and I hate the cold. ;-). Anyways, we'd love to have you in Texas. :-).

    3. Elizabeth, interesting, very interesting...probably why my husband was more serious about it than I was...he knows that kind of stuff.

Oh, gosh, I hate the cold too.
Off to look up where Lake Jackson is...

    1. Thanks Gardenia!! (Good memory by the way!) My 6 year old loves all the outfits...she kept saying "I like that one, and that one and that one--Oh, and that's pretty!" Hmmmmm

  9. Say goodbye to the cold! You're getting closer to Cali! What's the reason for the move?

    1. Arlley--we are not really moving, it's kind of a joke. Well, if Texas gets farther along on this and it looks like it will actually secede, then well, we WILL move. We don't like living in Obamanation. I also heard that California was hoping to split in 2, one being another Country and one being in Obama's nation. I think you are on the wrong part of the state though....

SO, kind of a joke with a little seriousness to it. (a possibility)

  12. If we move I wanna get me a horse and do the cowboy thing. Sorta like that famous Pioneer Woman. Brian and Tom would make the hottest cowhands in TX. makes me want to get me some cowboy boots right now.
Just think about why our ancestors came here..for religious freedom! FREEDOM!!!

    1. Love that Christine!!! If we move to Texas, does that mean I have to wear cowboy boots? (I'm not really a boot kind of gal, well, except winter boots, which I would not need anymore)

  13. We live in Texas and we love it! We just bought a house in the country with 4 acres-about 40 miles northwest of Ft. Worth. Everyone is so friendly and it is beautiful.
