I love the Holy Spirit!

From my Little White Book:
(a daily reflection book)
In Italy, Pentecost is celebrated with the custom of scattering
red rose petals from the church ceiling.
The practice dates back to medieval times when rose
petals were dropped from the ceiling of the church to
represent the flames of the holy tongues of fire.

Hmmmm....off to figure out some kind of dessert...

  1. I did not know about the rose petals, but Pentecost is very special with us, too. Love this post-

  2. We forgot red, too, but we were happy to be home from camping and to have missed the dramatic thunderstorms that morning! Just before dinner I did send dh to the store for strawberry shortcake.
