Minnesota October

October in Minnesota is filled with a mix of days
rainy days, cold-er days
and special blessings of warm, sunny, 70-some-degrees days
(we are in a stretch of those right now)

I thought I'd share some of it with you here...
These are growing all over my flower garden, they popped up after the rain
I wonder if they are edible?
We had a late start to summer and it seems all my seeded flowers are over a month late,
my mailbox Morning Glories are finally blooming!
Pumpkin muffins, bread and waffles fill the air with spice!

My Cosmos and Zinnia's are blooming finally
 Blessings all around
We are leaving the messes inside for
warm breezes and sunshine!!

  1. Call Fr. Gregory about the mushrooms. It's his specialty. He loves checking out what people are growing in their yard.
    Love your pictures!

  2. I love hearing your voice!
It has been amazing weather. Perfect for playing outside. I gave Colette 3 bucks to clean our playroom. It was like a bomb went off. One little kid can just destroy the place.

Enjoy this weather. Like you said, we will be looking at snow for awhile.

  3. Oh boy, Jamie...I so enjoyed this one!

I loved hearing your voice, and sharing your beautiful day with you, and seeing how you all are enjoying the beauty of autumn.

I wish I could just drop by and sit on that porch with you. Oh...and eat a few of those muffins too. : )

    Enjoy, my dear bloggy friend.

  4. I love October! It's my favorite month! We were going to get married in October but then decided on May...now I'm wishing I chose October. :-)

I got all excited when I saw that quote of Anne of Green Gables on FB--I thought you were going to do a post on her. Love that show, I'll have to watch it again! :-)

  6. I'd be distracted, too :) Thanks for sharing your neck of the woods (and voice) with the rest of us! I read that book a couple of years ago during lent. Tiffany (Family at the foot of the cross) recommended it. :) Your birds...I noticed the sound on the video as well. Our birds don't sound like that, but they remind me of my childhood home in Illinois. Have a great week!

  7. Oh, isn't that interesting? When we've gone out of state, I always tell the kids to notice the birds and to listen! That's so fun. I am LOVING the book! I so wish I could read it in a weekend retreat! But I'm hoping to be done in a couple weeks.

You have a great week too Patty!

  8. Glad to know I am not the only one bracing myself. I mean, fortifying my spirit with enough autumn beauty to last the winter. Whatever. The cold and dark days are coming and we have to live through it another year!
