Merry Christmas!

 Merry Christmas to you all!
I just wanted to post a quick "favorite moments" post!
(while my ham is cooking)

She got picked again this year to be Mary at our Christmas Eve Mass...
Little Red was like, "Why is everyone looking at us?"
(This was the only moment he was actually still and quiet)
Just ask the people who sat behind us.
This is the best shot I got of all of the kiddos!
A certain 2 year old did NOT want to pose for any pictures!
 There he goes!!
Oh, the excitement of Christmas!
He knew something was up.
(We never go to Mass at night!)
Sweet big brother sitting, waiting with little sis
These two are always ready to pose!
Tom doesn't like this photo, but I do...
Every time each child opened a gift, they gave huge hugs, like this!
So sweet!
She finally posed for me, with a huge smile!
Her Secret Angel gave her movie tickets!
 OH, Little Red...
He just didn't understand why he couldn't open all the gifts,
He was the only one who opened gifts on his birthday the other day
I love how every one of the kids, (every one) let him help them open their gifts.
 Fireplace, with Christmas music playing
(courtesy of Netflix)
No, we don't use our real fireplace
(we don't know how)
City people, huh?
 Bright rosy cheeks!
Every year, they all wait upstairs before coming down to see Santa's gift
It's adorable
(there might be a couple of them that were up waiting since 5:45am)
God bless everyone!

  3. Ok, I don't usually do this, but you have to use your firepace! We don't have one, and I miss it so much! We grew up with one and it was usually only on Christmas that we used it! It just felt so cozy! :-) Just make sure you open your damper (that is really the only thing you need to worry about) or your house will fill up with smoke. That's what happened to us once; the entire family room filled up with smoke, ha!

Here is a video how to use a fireplace--the guy is long winded and I can tell you in one sentence what he says in about 12 or 13: "Open your damper when you use your fire place and close it when you don't." :-)
    Oh, and merry Christmas!~

    2. Thanks so much Becky!! What's a damper? (I know it's like up there someplace...I'm afraid we might have bats living in there--I know we have birds in there!!

We have no wood or poker thingys either...You are right though, we have to at least for Christmas!!

Shouldn't we call a chimney sweeper person before trying it?
(which I'm sure is spendy) (which is another reason we have never done it!)

  5. Hi Jamie Jo - just a response to your comment on my blog - while Christmas Vacation is pretty funny in parts - be careful! I had not remembered all the language in it! There are some words that might not be the best for little ears to hear in a movie. Also, there is a swimming pool scene - not with Christie Brinkley - and not as bad as I remember that one was (from Vacation) but still not really family friendly. I was a little embarrassed to be watching it with my teenage son...I tend to forget all but the funny scenes and there are some very funny parts in the movie. Just thought I should warn you. Stalking Santa is also very funny and a very family friendly movie. You might enjoy that one. The Bethlehem Star is a documentary - very interesting - about the historical and scientific side of Christmas and how there really is proof of what scripture tells us. Highly recommended! Enjoy your Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much Deb! I thought maybe that movie might be like that....funny, I think when I did watch it, (at least part of it) it was before kiddos. Funny how those things are looked at differently without kids...I'm thinking Tom will have forgotten those parts too!

I'll have to check out Stalking Santa and that documentary too, interesting!
God bless you, enjoy the rest of Christmas day!

  6. Merry Christmas, Jamie Jo! I love how your kids wait upstairs for everyone. So sweet. Do they wait for you too or just until all the kids are up? I make mine wait too. :) Most slept in a bit though this year because of staying up too late with Mass.

Looks like you had a nice day. So many hugs and smiles and pictures (and two year old stuff!). My 2 year old opened one gift and was content. Her older siblings helped her unwrap the rest of her presents later in the day. My kids aren't big huggers but we some entertainment with the dramatics of our four year old loving everything and my 8 year happy and saying, "It's like all my dreams are coming true." These are some good Christmas ages and years. :) Enjoy the season.
