Reviews and Previews

If you have not read this book yet, you are missing out.
You can see great customer reviews HERE

I read this book a few years ago,
and when I heard it was made into a movie and coming in November,
I had my 2 oldest read it.
It is a "can't put down" kind of book
They both read it within 2 weeks.
first one then the other.
We went to the movie last night
(5 buck free popcorn Tuesdays in Dec)

I was very impressed with the actors that portrayed the characters,
They did a wonderful job and I am so happy we had read the book first.

The woman that played Rosa, Liesel's Foster mama,
did such a wonderful job of convincing us she was hard, yet soft at the same time.

And Max, loved his character too.
And the mayor's wife
and cute little Rudy
and of course Papa.

Of course we got to see the previews and
I am kind of thinking this will be a good movie:

Interesting, huh?
Anyone want to go with me in February?
(This is not a Tom movie)
That's the girl from Downton Abbey that married
 the car guy!!

Since I'm on a roll here posting videos,
Are you excited for Downton Abbey?
Premiering January 5th (PBS Masterpiece)

Just in case you need some help with the characters:
(like I do)

Now there's some new ones coming this season,
I'll never be able to keep them straight...
I'm still mourning the mean daughter's husband, the heir guy's death.

  1. DUDE. so excited for Downton. And I was wondering about the Book Thief, maybe now I'll give it a read (who are we kidding)/watch it (that's more like it).

    1. That is funny, isn't it? I love "the daughter that married the car guy" the best!

You know more than I do, I don't even know their real names...they are English actors...except the mom and Shirley Maclaine...

    1. I forgot to add:
my husband brought up DA last night and asked if I was excited for it to start up again. Honestly, I'm not. I'm sick of my favs being killed off. I'll probably watch it, but it's not the same for me now that Matthew is gone.

    2. I know...I feel the same way about Matthew...but I'm kind of interested in how they are going to portray her grieving. Will they just brush it off like several months passed and she's over it?

  4. The poor woman who got labeled the "ugly sister", whoever wrote that was just mean. I don't think she's ugly at all. Is the new season good? I haven't seen any of it yet. I haven't heard of any of the other books/films you mentioned, I guess I need to look into things more!

    1. OH, Kari, I know, she's not ugly, actually in "real life" she is really beautiful. I think they kind of make her "ugly" on purpose, next to Mary. Mary Mary Mary....(play on the "Marsha Marsha Marsha!)

The new season starts in January, so I don't know how it is yet...I'll DVR it.

    1. Only the 2 oldest so far...my 3rd one, she hates reading.

OK, it's a date. Hoping they don't sleep together though....they probably will, huh? We really should do it, you know, go to a movie, how fun would that be?

  6. Okay, we are LOVING that DA poster! I even set it as my desktop background.

Except...am I the only one who likes Edith? I don't think she's ugly at all and neither does my daughter "Cate" who is reading over my shoulder and just pointed out Kari's comment above so yay! We have a nice little "We ♥ Edith" group going here.

    Get all that?

Though, according to Cate, she is prone to a little bitterness now & then. Aren't we all? There but by the grace of God go me.

    1. You know, Edith, in real life (I don't know her name) is really really beautiful, I think they try to make her not as pretty as Mary. Mary Mary Mary...you know like the Brady Bunch...Marsha Marsha Marsha!!

I don't love her, she's kind of nasty. I liked the one that died, you know the sister that married the car guy. She was nice AND pretty.
