Update

Updating here to let you prayer warriors know
YES she is a Type 1 Diabetic.

Just like her mama.
Just like her grandma.

(yet they still tell me it's not hereditary?)

They did a simple urine test and
her glucose was high as were her ketones.

We have an appointment tomorrow morning in Minneapolis

Lord, please give me the grace to be all  You and she need me to be.

Thank you all for your prayers.
You are awesome and I will pray for you in return!

(not sure I'll get to a "Thankful" post, I'm feeling rather sad tonite)

    1. Also praying she won't have to be hospitalized. Because you are diabetic will be such a blessing to her! I'm sure you never thought you'd thank God for being diabetic, but there's a silver lining!

  13. Oh, Jamie Jo! If you were here I'd hug you! I'm just seeing this post and your last (we just moved -- turned out to be temporary and will be moving again this month). I'm praying for you and your sweetie pie! I'm grateful, though, that her momma knows the signs and it was diagnosed before things got too scary. I'm also praying for everything involved with your move. All that decluttering inspired me! We just threw stuff into storage before we put our house on the market -- I don't recommend it. Anyway, prayers for all of you being offered!

  14. Oh, Jamie I wish I could hug you. You are an amazing mom to have recognized the signs and acted on it. Prayers for Sweetie Pie and for you as you forge ahead into a familiar and yet difficult new normal. Much love and hugs.

  15. Our daughter was diagnosed when she was 3 1/2. She is 11 now and doing well. Your blog has been an inspiration for me. When she was diagnosed Steel Magnolias scenes went through my head - that was my only frame of reference ( not accurate at all). I have been inspired by all of your beautiful children and how you present yourself with such grace and no pity parties! :) thank you for all you do and I am so sorry for your daughter - praying for you all!

  16. God must have a special role for her to play in this world. When he allows an innocent child to experience the cross at such a young age it is always for the formation of that soul. She has such a beauty to her and one can see her joy of life just by looking into a picture. My human heart is sad for her but I know she be like her mom and life her life to the fullest, no matter what. God Bless you all as you make changes to accommodate. You are all in our prayers.

  26. So sorry to hear this. I'll be praying for her and you and all of your family! Having lived with this yourself, you'll be able to help her and teach her how to take care of herself. It's hard right now, but you'll look back and see God's hand in all of this. God Bless.
