4 Months Old and 9 Pounds 9 Ounces!
Yay!! Simeon is 9 pounds 9 ounces and has been eating a ton lately.
The doctor gave him the "go ahead" for surgery! If he's not 10 pounds in 2 weeks, he will be close enough!
Thank you for all your wonderful prayers, I don't doubt it for one minute he's gained this weight because of your prayers!
He will be 4 months old Sunday. I have to say, it's been a long 4 months, keeping him home and away from germs and the possibility of getting RSV, pumping constantly and trying to fit that into our already busy school days and busy home, filled with 6 kids. Balance, life is all about balance. In all things. I really believe this, but sometimes for short periods of time (like baby's first year) that balance is sometimes hard to find.
Of course he was all smiles til I took out the camera, so no smiles on video!
We started taking him to the Chiropractor a week and a half ago for his fussiness and it's helped quite a bit!
Our Chiropractor's assistant has a 7 month old who had the lip surgery 4 months ago, her daughter also had the bi-lateral cleft lip and looked just like Simeon before her surgery. She showed me pictures of her daughter afterward and she looked wonderful. Lindsey, (the mama) answered a million questions, I didn't even know I had in my head! It was so good to talk to someone who went through the whole thing.
It was so good to talk to her, I went home actually, almost excited for the surgery. All my nerves soon took over though!

Hooray!! I'm so happy to hear that he has gained the required weight. I'm also very happy that you were able to talk to another mom that has been through it already. How encouraging that must have been. I LOVED watching that video clip of Simeon. What a precious, precious boy. You both continue to be in my daily prayers.
ReplyDeleteI loved getting to see Simeon on video, and I especially loved hearing everyone's voices. She can just see his thought steaming full ahead, working to get a hold of his toy, and then, it's there!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you met the mom who's little girl has been through the surgery. I'm also glad about Simeon's weight reaching goal.
I'm praying for Simeon and the surgery, for you, and for a quick recovery. Can't believe it's already almost here!
Jamie he is such a little love!!! I love that age so much...they're little personalities start shining through. We'll be praying for you all in the next few weeks...especially for your little cutie!!
ReplyDeleteExcited (and nervous) for Simeon's surgery! You know he has my prayers! He looks so good, I will watch the video in the morning so I can turn up the sound without waking anyone up. :0
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just like the Lord to place people in your path that can give you the peace He wants you to have?
ReplyDeleteI love the video of Simeon and being able to hear your voices trying to get a smile out of him. At least he got a grip on the toy in the end. Thanks for blessing my Sunday with this joy.
Hugs,
Odie
I will be emailing you for pointers next year when I have to start "real" homeschool with Eliot. You are my hero!
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful to see sweet Simeon!! Also, glad to hear he is ready for surgery and is feeling less fussy. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing you met another mom who's "been there, done that." It's always so good to talk with those who have gone before us.
ReplyDeleteThe video is adorable. I love how babies at this age get all big-eyed when he/she see something of interest. Too cute!
Hallelujah, for weight gain! I sure wish it was so grand for Mamas!? hee hee I'll bet it feels good to talk with someone else who's gone through the surgery with their little one...We women need other women for that! I'll be keeping your nerves in prayer these next couple of weeks:)
ReplyDeletePraise God from whom all blessings flow!! He will be all ready for the surgery and so will you with all the prayers you both are receiving from friends all over !! It's hard not to be nervous and have it on your mind all the time, but know you'll both be covered in Our Lady's mantle of protection (and friends' prayers) all the way there and through recovery!! What a big boy he is getting to be!! (he's probably focusing on the camera and wondering what it is !)
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased you were able to speak with another mom in your shoes. How wonderful and providential Our Lord is! I love how He works through others to help us. I'm thankful that he's big enough for surgery, too. Know that I'm keeping you all in prayers for a beautiful, successful outcome. In Christ through Mary!
ReplyDeleteWow what a small world! You know there is no such thing as a coincidence...only God working a miracle and deciding to remain anonymous :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Got the book and your sweet note - thanks!
Sooooo awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that video a ton...EXCEPT I couldn't hold him. He is so sweet and kissable.
ReplyDeleteYou are cool to figure out the video thing.
So glad you found someone to help you through this.
So glad the Chiropractor is helping with his fussiness.
Settle those nerves down. Everything will be alright. ((HUGS)) and call if need be.
God is so good. Amazing that you just happen to find someone that has "been there, done that" with this surgery and in a situation where you can talk to her. God is just so wonderful to give us those gifts like that. I have to go redo my makeup after all those tears. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHe's so adorable with those giant eyes and wiggly 4month oldness. It's my favorite when they start reaching for stuff and actually GET IT! I'll be praying like crazy for his surgery and recovery. It's not an easy time, that's for sure, but I hope it helps with his comfort and care. God bless you all. :)
