I'm tired of double standards. I think they are my new pet peeve. Maybe they always have been, but I'm finally writing about it. ...
Love the preposition rap! So glad that somebody is still teaching grammar. I always did "supplemental" grammar lessons when I was a public school teacher. You wouldn't believe how many parents told me "thank you"! Yes, we teach "grammar" through reading and writing in the classroom, but it the grammar part just seems to get lost in the shuffle. I always felt like a 10-15 minute grammar lesson on a specific skill was so much more valuable than "meshed" into everything else. Of course, we don't use grammar in isolation from reading and writing, but ya gotta know what you're talking about, write?!!! (right???!!!!) LOL
ReplyDeleteValerie--I dint know people wernt teaching grammer. hee hee!! Seriously, though, I didn't know that, I thought it was just something that had to be taught. I was looking for a way to teach it, and I know when I taught my son a few years ago, there was some kind of rhyme we used, so I looked on Youtube! Some pretty good ones out there.
