Happy Friday

Babycakes: (hopping onto the scale) "Mama, what time am I?"

Mama: "Ummm, oh, 45 O'clock."

I'm taking a break to be with my beautiful family a little more (gotta enjoy summer!)
I'll be back in about a week and a half.
God bless you all!

Maria Therese has deep struggle, please take a moment to read her comment in my comment box and give her some kind words of encouragement. Thank you so very much.

  1. Have a wonderful time with hubby and all your kids and baby!

    Will be thinking of you!
and praying for a SAFE trip there and back.

  2. Hi Jaime! Thinking of you and praying for you and your family! Hope you are all having a nice day!

I was wondering if you could offer me a little insight? I have been praying a lot this week and thought you might understand.

I have a very good friend who was married about five months ago. She just turned 40. Just like me, she has always wanted to be a Mother. We talk all the time online and on the phone. We decided to help each other eat right and exercise. We also decided to pray for each other.

Well, wouldn't you know it LOL, she just found out she is pregnant! I am very happy for her, but feel very sad and discourage for myself. I've been crying off and on all week.

Any insight on why God seems to answer my prayers when I pray for other friends to be able to get pregnant and NOT me? I have prayed for many friends to be able to have babies and many of them have been blessed with pregnancies and babies, thanks to God!

When I was single I prayed a lot for a good husband and was blessed by God to find one, thank you God again! But when I was single I was also praying that after my husband and I were married we would be blessed with children. I have been praying the same prayer for the three years I've been married.

I just don't understand why God answers my friends prayers for children and not mine.

My good friend who is now pregnant told me that after a couple of months of being married and not getting pregnant, she prayed and surrendered to God this desire. Well, I have tried to do that but end up crying each time.

I also wonder why did God give me such a strong desire to be a Mommy only years later after being blessed to be married I find out I have endometriosis/infertility issues?

I just feel like I'm struggling. It's very difficult for me to try to pray right now. I wish I didn't feel like this.

Have you ever felt like this? What did you do? I would love to hear!

P.S. Do you know of any good sermons/pod casts on this subject? I would love to listen to them!

Hope to hear from you when you have a chance!

Could you please pray for me? For a child? I would really appreciate it so much! Thank you so much!

Also the devil seems to know my weakness and has doctors telling me "Getting pregnant with endometriosis is tricky. Your best bet is to try IVF." Also someone recently emailed me offering to be a surrogate mother for me. Of course I told all these people "No! I won't do anything that will displease God."

    You can email me at:

    Thank you so much!

  3. I also hope you and your wonderful family have an awesome time. We will miss you.

  4. Have fun with your family!

To Maria- I just happened to read your comment, have you looked into the Pope Paul VI Institute? They work with people who are trying to get pregnant and are struggling. Not sure where you are in the country, but it's worth looking into.

  5. Hi Maria,
I know your struggles and am familiar with that yearning, with us being child-less for the first 3 years of our marriage.

You asked my insight, my thoughts. Well, here it is:

I really think you are being called special by God to sacrifice this time of yearning. Turn that hurt into something good.

We will never know the "why's?" to life's questions, the "why do other people get what they want?"
    "and I don't?"

A priest once told me, if you were given the opportunity to walk in the shoes of someone you are jealous of, you could not. You could not survive one day living their life. God gives us our life, with it's own crosses. Everyone has their things that are hard in life and if they don't, they better get down on their knees and pray for that cross. (I added that last part myself!) God made each of us with a purpose, to go to Heaven, right?

God is not magic. Your prayers are not all that. If I pray for someone to have a baby and they get pregnant, it's not me and my prayers that did it. ITS GOD.

You've mentioned several times that you can't adopt because of the price, but- you can adopt older waiting children for free. No cost. They are first legally foster children, but just during the process of adoption. Now, they come with problems, maybe you don't want to do that. It's worth looking into, you, being older, it might be the perfect match.

It's natural to feel the sadness and joy at the same time when hearing of pregnancies but that's life, it shows God has something special planned for you, He's giving you this opportunity to sacrifice and offer this great pain up. Offer it up to His will. Let go and Let God.

  6. Does anyone else have words of advice for Maria?

  7. I was going to make the same recommendation the other Allison did.

Jamie, your advice is so spiritually sound and good. God, in his perfect wisdom and plans, is asking you, Maria Therese, to sacrifice and suffer for your desires. In offering up your heartbreak He will do great things.

I hope you will consider an older child, like Jamie suggests as a deep desire and love for motherhood like yours surely knows no age....

I will pray to Our Lady, who know suffering, to be your comfort.

  8. O, and Jamie, have a wonderful, safe trip. Take lots of photos!

  9. Jaime and friends,

Thank you for the advice and prayers! I really appreciate it!

You gave me some great advice, which I will think about and pray about this weekend!

    Thank you so much!

Jaime, have a wonderful trip with your husband and children! I will pray for a safe and wonderful time for you all!

  10. Maria,

Although I've been going through secondary infertility after having two children, I do understand your struggles. Countless times I have wept when others' baby news was too overwhelming for me to hear and numerous times prayer and offering my cross to Christ was mroe than I thought I could bear. I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

I would also suggest Pope Paul VI Institue. I had to learn Creighton NFP model and chart for a couple of months before I could send in my referral to Dr. Hilgers. I did it though knowing that it would be beneficial in the long-run and that PPVI was only going to give me morally acceptable options for treatment and do their best to find a resolution that would bring me a baby. It is a process that takes a little time, but if you are really looking for Catholic compassion and guidance I think PPVI is a great choice.

Another suggestion I would have is to check out their website and I think on there you can find physicians that are trained and use NaPro Technology and might assess your situation differently than a 'regular' doctor might. Perhaps there would be physicians in your area or even within a reasonable driving distance. I had to travel 2 hours to get to one, but it was VERY worth it for me. The peace I found in that decision and those appointments were very beneficial. Again, very good Catholics/Christians with your best interests and morals at heart and will only advise you accordingly.

I'll pray for your guidance and discernment this weekend. May your heart be at peace.

  11. Maria Therese,

I know your mommy yearning...we have 2 children by birth and 2 more by adoption....I encourage you to look at the Website Tomorrow is a Gift by Barbara Burke. SHe ( and we ) adopted children with medical needs. She has done adoptiions nearly free! She ispired my husband and I to adopt medical needs children from India...great blessing!

    God bless

  13. Jamie Jo- I just happened across your blog (it's beautiful) while looking for something else and couldn't help notice the post from Maria Therese. I know not everyone is called to the path of adoption, yet I would encourage you to look further. We have adopted six times and I have seen many, many times the way God has provided financially for those wishing to adopt. EVERY child deserves a loving family, regardless of their age, medical condition, or reasons for being available for adoption. Older children do come with more baggage, we all have our share of problems!, but the rewards and benefits outweigh the stuggles. God bless you on your journey.

  14. Hey-could you get back from family time??? I know it's important, but I miss you!!!

BTW-I tagged you for a prayer meme over at my blog...
