I'm interrupting the usual "Thankful Thursday" posts this week to post
a "Thankful Pregnancy"
This will be a funny, but true post, about the things that keep you going at the end.
(at least for me)
Thankful that in about 3 weeks:
- I won't need to buy and wear these Poise liners anymore
- Our toilet paper use will be cut down by about 3/4
- No more constipation (at least not from me)
- I'll be able to reach my "wiping parts" so much better, my arms just are not that long, I pretty much pull a muscle every time.
- No more "Pregnancy Air"--every time I sit on the toilet, "air" comes out. My husband says it's a fart, but I tell you, it's air. It doesn't happen when I'm not pregnant...but it is loud. (and quite embarrassing) It's air, I tell you. Air.
- No more going potty every time I sit and then stand again
- No more going potty every time I pass a potty
- No more getting up in the night to go potty
- No more groaning and moaning every time I bend down or roll over or move.
- No more puffy elephant ankles
- No more fat sausage toes and legs (my legs are so tight, it's hard to kneel)
- No more NO ENERGY
- No more heartburn, or retasting my food all night long.
- I'll be able to get up out of a chair without groaning or moaning and looking just plain ridiculous.
- No more constant low blood sugars
- No more 4-5 doctor appts/week!!
- No more huffing and puffing the stairs
- I'll be able to paint my toes--heck, I'll be able to touch my toes!!
- I'll be able to put on my socks and pants without grunting and groaning
- No more backache
- No more "Pregnancy Butt"
- I'll be able to park far away and walk fast into any store!
- I'll be able to hold my sweet little baby and kiss that sweet little cleft lip-- and that is why these things are such things to be so very thankful for.
Hahaha! I feel your pain. I'm always changing out toilet paper rolls, since I'm peeing every 30 minutes!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh the things I do not miss about being pregnant, you easily forget all that stuff once it's done! Thanks for the reminder haha!
ReplyDeleteAll though my "holding" power is no longer what it used to be. When I have to go, I have to go now. Sigh.
Ohh soooooo right there with ya! And yes, it's air.
ReplyDeleteOk, now I need to go to the bathroom!!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me laugh and on the other hand be thankful that although I have some of these things, I have been able to get by without most of them...so far.
Good thing that we forget these things (for the most part) after we have sweet little ones in our arms, otherwise we might never do it all over again!!
That's like all of the sudden lately as the time approaches, I'm remembering labor and delivery and cringe. It's easier to recall the last l&d since it was so recent. Last year with Gianna, it had been almost 5 years so I almost completely forgot. Yikes. It still scares me just a bit if I over-think it.
ps...yes, it's air. Definitely air. Just like I keep telling hubby that pregnancy just makes me gassy and my tummy icky. :)
Oh man, I am so thankful that those last few weeks are behind me. I think it gets harder with every child and the older we get. You're almost done!!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually peed in my pants the other day when i got mad at the kids. I actually peed! Then I had to go and change my pants! Yes, I relate!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any heartburn this time though. This is the first pregnancy with no heart burn and I don't miss it.
But yes, the bathroom stuff, I definitely relate!
Spot on - thanks for the laugh! The "air" thing is most embarrassing at the doctor's!
ReplyDeleteI'll add that I can't wait to lay on my back again!
Wow. That's a pretty complete list there, Jamie. (Wink)
ReplyDeleteHope your doctor's appt goes well today and the best case scenario happens for baby!
OMGosh! LOL! Love this post! You know the worst for me is always the heartburn and acid reflux. Ugh. I lived on tums. I actually would take them to bed with me, no joke. Oh, and I had to wear slip on shoes the last three months because I couldn't bend over to tie my shoes. Sometimes Mark would have to help me get dressed. Usually with getting my pants on, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and all the bathroom stuff. Yep, yep, and yep.
God bless you, Jamie! You're almost done!
So funny! You gave me a laugh! Thank You!:) Can't wait for you to post pics of your sweet little one! Also, can't wait to find out what you are having!! It's going so fast that it seems like you just announced you were pregnant! I guess it goes faster when you watch other women! You are almost at the finish line!! :)God bless!!
ReplyDeleteGosh....Seeing you at the Christmas party....you seemed like you were doing pretty good. You must put on a good show. You were up and down and even made that super yummy dessert...I had second dibs.
ReplyDeleteHang in there and I look forward to kissing that baby too.
I also now need to go pee.
I'm with you also. 7 weeks for me.
ReplyDeletePray everything goes well for you and the new addition!
Funny.
ReplyDeleteThe image of you kissing your babe in your arms is the sweetest ending.
God bless!
Oh Jamie, what a fun post! It brought back so many memories for me!
ReplyDeleteJust a little while longer - hold in there!
You're in my prayers,
~LuAnne
You are too funny! But I also feel your pain. I also had the "pregnany butt" and heart burn like you wouldn't belive.. or maybe you would! ;) Hang in there sweetie.. the day is almost here!!! Can't wait for you to meet and love on your new baby!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this was so funny! I love, love, love how you ended it, too. That sweet baby is going to be here so soon- can't wait to see pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this post - so true!!!!! It seems like I am always changing the TP roll and there are currently only 2 of us in the house! (And the "leaking" when I cough, sneeze, etc. - so annoying!)
ReplyDelete:) I know! ...I'm 38 weeks - love you and your blog :) It's neat being due close to the same time as you :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for all the discomforts to leave you Jamie and the fun to begin. As we say down here "you are in the short rows now" and I know there is so much excitement around your house. I was excited this morning to take that heavy bandage off and actually type with both hands. I am not overdoing and it really feels great. The main thing is to make sure I keep it clean and healthy while it heals. Have a great rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Odie
lol I remember!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a little TMI for me, but I have to admit I TOTALLY sympathize, especially with the wiping part. Definitely needed longer arms last time. My last pregnancy was so totally miserable, I even had to go to the ER after being stopped up for over a week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can take it easy these last weeks. We're all rooting for you!
Thanks! I laughed out loud reading this. My baby is just two weeks old now and I'm already feeling like a normal woman again. Congratulations on the birth of your newest baby boy.
