Update on Jamie

Well, we were hoping to have Jamie home by now. Not the case. She found out she will need to be there until Monday, most likely. But were are praying for Sunday.
Her leg broke in 3 different places. She had 8 screws, a metal plate and a cable to hold the bones together put into her leg that will be there for life, most likely. But the surgery did go well and the doctors predict a normal recovery. The problem is that a normal recovery for that type of injury means 6 weeks with no weight on the right leg. Then another 6 weeks of physical therapy until she is back close to new.
The two little ones are having a hard time because they don't really understand what happened. We went to see Mommy at the hospital and it helped the two older ones to see she is OK. She is in much better spirits today and we brought her some things she likes from home.
Thank you all for your prayers. They have already helped immensely. God Bless you all.

  1. HI to all of Jamie's friends!

I just got off the phone with Jamie and she wants to thank everyone for all of their wonderful prayers and offers for help. She will need to take you up on them!

She would like you to pray for 2 specific things in this coming week.

    1. Pray for no blood clots (can happen much easier when PG - she would need Heparin injections)

    2. Pray for no repeat surgery when they check on Friday.

Thank you all and God bless!

  2. Jamie,

I was so sorry to hear about your accident. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks to your husband Tom and friend Sarah for keeping us updated.

Jamie, you take care of yourself and baby, concentrate on getting rest and healing that ankle. I will be praying lots of rosaries for you. I am also going to send you some snail mail to hopefully brighten up your day while you are recuperating.

Much love and hugs to you!

  3. More prayers being said. I will ask Father to offer Mass intentions for her either at the 9am or 12:15 tomorrow. . . . I have a way of getting the Dominican's in on it, if you'd like.

Thank you for keeping us updated - so we know what to pray for and do.

    Many blessings,

  6. Jamie, if you read this I will be calling you tomorrow. My jaw dropped when I read this. Do you have help with the kids? I mean, seriously? With you having to be off your feet, I really, really hope you can make some kind of arrangements for someone to come in and look after the kids. My prayers are with you today. I love you! What a cross!!!
